MURFREESBORO -- The Tennessee Association of Utility Districts (TAUD) held their Annual Meeting at the Memphis Hilton earlier this month. The Association awarded Chris Forte of the Consolidated Utility District of Rutherford County with the Everett Severs Award for excellence in water treatment at their annual awards breakfast.
Mr. Forte has been with Consolidated Utility District for 22 years. He is the Water Treatment Plant Manager and holds a Grade IV Water Treatment as well as a Grade II Distribution license. He is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University and has a degree in Geology. Consolidated Utility District’s General Manager Larry McElroy describes Chris as “hard working and dedicated to his profession.” Mr. McElroy submitted the nomination to the Association’s Awards Committee for consideration. The committee was also impressed with Mr. Forte’s accomplishments including: the design of a 16 million gallon a day plant expansion, the establishment of an operations and management program for the utility, and development of numerous standard operating procedures to ensure quality potable water production, and Chris’s ability to effectively manage the water plant’s employees.
Chris is a member of the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts as well as the American Water Works Association. He and his wife Angie have three daughters that they home school.
Consolidated Utility District has been a member of The Tennessee Association of Utility Districts since 1982. TAUD is a non-profit organization that serves Tennessee’s water, wastewater, and natural gas utilities in hands-on training and technical assistance. The Association serves as a legislative liaison and is active in supporting legislation that improves service for Tennessee’s utilities and over two million residents within the state.
