Please read the policy on Payment Extensions and Agree to continue
POLICY:
The Commissioners of CONSOLIDATED UTILITY DISTRICT (CUD) delegate to the General Manager, or to
his designated representatives, the authority to disconnect water service for nonpayment for any past
due bill of $25.00 or more. If disconnected, an additional service charge determined by Board policy will
be added to the past due balance.
If a customer has two consecutive past due bills or fails to honor a payment extension, their meter will
be locked or pulled until payment and all applicable service charges are made in full.
A customer requesting CUD to reinstate same-day-service will be required to pay an additional overtime
charge for payments received after normal business hours.
The Commissioners of CUD further delegate to the General Manager, or his designated representatives,
the authority to extend water service beyond the bill payment date up to seven (7) days. Such
extensions should be granted only at the customer's request and should be supported by reasons
deemed appropriate for delayed payment, such as paying on a leak, illnesses or child(ren) at the
residence alone.
CUD does not allow extensions for returned checks. CUD does not allow an extension on extensions.
No extensions will be allowed for accounts that are locked or have their meter pulled for nonpayment.
Extensions will not be granted on a regular or frequent basis for any customer.
Any extension granted should be supported by a Payment Commitment Form completed by the
customer by 12:00 noon one business day prior to the scheduled disconnect date. This form can be completed at
CUD’s office or completed on CUD’s website at www.cudrc.com. CUD will not accept requests for extensions via phone or facsimile.
Failure to honor the extension will result in disconnect of water service for nonpayment for the amount
of said extension plus the disconnect fee. Failure to honor two (2) consecutive extension requests will
result in a no extension agreement allowed for one full year.
The Commissioners of CONSOLIDATED UTILITY DISTRICT delegate and direct the General Manager, or
his designated representatives, to disconnect water service for any customer who has an unpaid water
bill that is ninety (90) days delinquent and has an unrepaired water leak. No payment extension or
water leak billing adjustment will be authorized or allowed for any customer with a delinquent water bill
who has an active unrepaired water leak.
