If you want your water disconnected for any other reason, please contact CUD either by phone or in person during normal business hours. REINSTATEMENT (after disconnection) Once service has been disconnected due to non-payment, the full balance (plus any service charges) must be paid before service can be reinstated. WHAT DOES THE “MINUS” SIGN MEAN ON MY BILL? A minus sign indicates you have a credit balance and you do not need to make a payment. WHY DO YOU NEED MY CURRENT PHONE NUMBER? If your account is past due, CUD has an automated calling system to place a courtesy reminder that your water service is scheduled for disconnection. CUD also notifies customers in case of leaks or emergencies. LEAK ADJUSTMENTS You may request an adjustment if you have a water leak on your account. To qualify for an adjustment, the bill must be at least $45.00 greater than your normal bill. CUD assists a customer once a year with an adjustment. You must complete a CUD leak adjustment form. An adjustment will be made after the repair and your bill has returned to normal usage. You will be notified via mail as to the adjustment that was made on your account. (Click here for leak form) HOW TO CHECK FOR A LEAK Read and write down your meter reading. Do not use water for 2-hours (make sure ice maker is off) Re-read the meter, if reading has changed in 2-hours, you have a leak. Things you can check: Running toilet As a service to our customers (those that have sewer charges), we include the sewer and drainage charges of the Murfreesboro Water and Sewer and Smyrna Utilities on our bills. By combining the bills, the three companies are able to reduce billing, postage and handling costs. Storm Water Charge In October 2007 a Storm Water Charge was implemented as part of your the CUD monthly bill. This fee is a result of the City of Murfreesboro Storm Water Policy. Only CUD customers inside the Murfreesboro City Limits will receive this charge on their CUD bill. For more information please visit the Murfreesboro Water and Sewer Department site. |
