Drought Information
One of our sources of information about current water levels is the U.S. Drought Monitor. When our county suffers periods of time without sufficient rainfall, we urge our ratepayers to use water wisely and conservatively. Please avoid the following uses of water — which are considered non-essential — when drought level D2 has been reached.
- Do not wash sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, tennis courts, patios or other exterior paved spaces – except for uses related to public safety
- Avoid filling or refilling a swimming pool
- Avoid any noncommercial washing of privately owned motor vehicles, trailers, or boats
- Do not use water from a fire hydrant, except for fighting fires or use by CUD
- Avoid watering of lawns, gardens, landscaped areas, trees, shrubs or other plants
- Do not water any portion of a golf course from the potable water system
- Do not use water for dust control or compaction during construction
