Business Services Manager

This role assists the Director of Business Services by maintaining continuous office operation and production, by providing supervision and management of customer service, billing, and cash receipts. This role also directly supervises employees and carries out responsibilities in accordance with CUD policies and applicable laws; interviews, hires and trains employees; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves issues; and leads/trains employees to complete tasks within established guidelines and timeframe.

Project Engineer

This role will assist in managing infrastructure projects related to potable water and sanitary sewer systems - both CUD-initiated and developer-driven. An excellent candidate will bring strong experience in project management, construction review, and (preferably) hydraulic modeling, along with a collaborative spirit and a readiness to work in both office and field environments.

Waterline Distribution Technician

This position plays a key role in maintaining the continuous operation of our water distribution and delivery systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Repairing water and sewer line leaks and breaks; replacing or repairing broken meter boxes, lids, meters, meter bottoms, and meter yokes; installing or repairing fire hydrants, flushing hydrants, above- and below-ground blow-offs, valves, and water taps. Note: Scheduled on-call duties are required for this role.

Wastewater Maintenance Technician

This role involves tasks necessary to proper operation and integrity of Recirculating Sand Filter wastewater treatment systems, septic tank effluent pump systems and effluent disposal drip irrigation fields and complete necessary repairs. This includes repair/replacement of defective pumps, float switches, hydro-tech valve disc, ultraviolet unit bulbs and ballast; repair wastewater force main leaks/breaks and more.

Assistant Distribution Manager

The successful candidate for this role helps to lead the day-to-day operations of our waterline maintenance crews, provides direct supervision to field teams and steps in for the Distribution Manager when needed. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations, while also supporting team development, customer relations, and emergency response. This field-based leadership role requires strong technical knowledge of water systems, solid decision-making skills, and the ability to guide teams through complex maintenance and construction work.

Seasonal Meter Service

Join our team for the season and support our Water Meter Replacement Program! In this role, you will inspect water meters for damage, replace meter registers and transponders, and complete digital work orders on mobile devices. To qualify, you must be at least 18 years of age with a valid Tennessee driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, familiarity with Rutherford County is a plus, and you will need basic tool and computer skills.
